Power Platform Weekly - Issue #36
Lookup PCF ...the second.. this time for real! Diana Birkelbach has explored how a Lookup PCF works, what we can do with it and what not, how to detect the settings made by the maker, and more. Please note that most of it is not supported for now, but that did not stop Diana from digging into the details and share her findings with us in this article.
Dian Taylor keeps writing these detailed, much helpful articles as she comes across new features. This time she describes a new (public preview) feature that she calls a game changer for a lot of sales organizations. As part of this feature a lead distribution engine will be added to the D365 organization. You can then configure the logic for leads to be automatically assigned to users or teams based on assignment rules.

Dropping new goodies straight to MS Docs, without any formal announcement, has now been normalized. Couple of Virtual Table features have been "announced" without much fanfare this way. This time it's the ability to trigger Flows from Custom API and fortunately for us, Natraj Yegnaraman has put together the perfect article describing this topic.

A chat with Ben Vollmer, former Global Director for Field Service, about his involvement in the bringing down CRM Online for the entire world. It's a true blast from the past as most of it was before Daryl even logged into CRM online, and so long that Scott has forgotten most of it.

A panel of experts will explore the different types of external parties and the various use cases where they would need to interact with an organization's internal information system (i.e., A Power Platform Dataverse). The panel will then explore the possible technical solutions to solve each use case.
Out of the blue
Lookups are a core component of model-driven apps, as they help bring underlying data relationships in Microsoft Dataverse to life. Advanced lookup helps end-users explore and find that data easily, so they are more productive with data-entry tasks.
Since this week, you can use Power Query (preview) to load data into the web version of Dataverse for Teams in selected regions and it will be available in all regions by the beginning of July. You can now upload your data from a variety of data sources using the familiar Power Query experience that also ships as part of Excel and Power BI. The ability to use dataflows in the Teams client will follow soon!
